My Ways of Making

Yumiyama Ryo, MR, 2025, studio BREMEN

Artworks are made in many different ways, and learning about these processes offers a deeper insight into the energy that shapes them. This exhibition presents works by artists with disabilities active in Hokkaido alongside works from the museum’s collection, connecting them through a focus on how they are made.

Art Gallery Hokkaido Fukui Sawato’s Journeys: Views from Afar

Fukui Sawato (b. 1937) has traveled widely across Asia and Europe, producing a substantial body of work. Wherever he goes, he views the world introspectively, depicting serene scenes that evoke the vast flow of time and the quiet presence of life that usually goes unnoticed. This exhibition focuses on major works from his sixties onward, when this approach takes on greater depth and scale.
