Overview
Time with Beautiful Things The Essence of the Tomoda Collection: Fascinating Prints and Poems
The poet and children’s book writer Tomoda Takio (b. 1931) is a collector of modern and contemporary prints from the West and Japan. After gifting some 2,000 of these works to the museum, Tomoda received the Hokkaido Culture Award in 2022. In addition to highlighting the essence of the collection, this exhibition introduces Tomoda’s literary achievements.
Glass Art of the Showa Era
After artists such as Iwata Toshichi and Kagami Sozo pioneered the use of glass as a creative form in Japan, Koshiba Sotoichi, Fujita Kyohei, and others continued to explore various expressions and techniques in glass art. This exhibition introduces a diverse range of Japanese glass works.
