Born in Hakodate city, Kunimatsu Noboru (1907-94), one of the important artists from the Donan area, worked with subjects concerning Hokkaido's climate and nature, such as snow fields and icebergs. He painted the Fish without the eyes and Men on the ice series in his dreamy and tranquil style. This exhibition looks at his life and career through his masterpieces.
