The term “art brut” refers to ingenuous creative expressions that do not fit in with the existing cultural framework. In addition to being the Hokkaido edition of a traveling show consisting of a host of works from the Nippon Foundation Collection, now housed in the Shiga Museum of Art, this exhibition introduces art brut pieces from southern Hokkaido.
